Corporate Finance Associate Attorney – Kansas City

Stinson LLP is seeking an Associate with 3 years or less experience for its Corporate Finance Division in our Kansas City office.

Stinson is looking for a motivated associate attorney to join the Corporate Finance Division and be solely dedicated to supporting the firm’s national securitization, structured finance and servicing practice. This practice represents servicers in structured finance transactions, acquisition transactions, special servicing transfer transactions, referral transactions, primary servicing transactions, real estate related transactions, and regulatory compliance and disclosure matters. The practice crafts and negotiates disclosure documents, including preliminary and final prospectus, prospectus supplements, private offering memoranda, and various definitive agreements such as the related servicing agreements, indentures, acquisitions agreements, master repurchase agreements, referral agreements, and indemnification agreements.

Qualified candidates must be licensed or eligible to be licensed in Missouri, and have three years or less experience or demonstrated academic interest in transactional, corporate finance law. Qualified applicants will be self-starters with excellent academic qualifications and writing skills.

Basic Function: Provide legal representation to indigent clients charged with criminal offenses facing the possibility of incarceration.

Job Duties: Duties to include pre-trial and trial preparation; litigating all aspects of the case through disposition at the trial court level; promoting and protecting the best interest of the client at all times; maintaining client contact by telephone, appointments, or institutional visits; keeping client apprised of investigations, negotiations, and court rulings; appearing at regularly scheduled court dockets and all appearances concerning assigned caseload; drafting motions and pleadings.

Qualifications: Must be a current member of the Missouri Bar or eligible for bar licensure in Missouri.
